He is particularly concerned with the research topics philosophy of religion, philosophy of nature and philosophical anthropology. Currently, the changes in human self-understanding against the background of trans- and posthumanist views are in the foreground of his interest. Questions about the body and the human body are particularly important to him.
In his opinion, it is essential that students not only acquire solid knowledge in the subject, but also know how to critically reflect on it and integrate it into their lifeworld.

Motivated by the question of an art of living on this side of Platonic background worlds, his current research interest focuses on the relationship between morality and religion(s). A constant focus lies in the field of clinical ethics in theory and practice as well as in the responsibility for the interdepartmental courses of Applied Ethics and Teaching Ethics.
